Purpose: To practice, prepare, and compete in Academic Bowl and Quiz Bowl competitions.

Activities: Northeast Georgia RESA Academic Bowl, independent quiz bowl tournaments. GATA Varsity State and JV State tournaments

Purpose: To provide an opportunity for ALL students to foster appreciation for art, artistic growth, and educational opportunities for our members to teach each other various artistic styles, skills, genres, crafts, mediums, etc. The goal of the club is to build a culture where all students feel safe striving to push beyond their artistic "comfort zones", to leave fear of making mistakes at the door, and to have fun celebrating ART!

Meeting Days/Times: Events TBA during school day and Special Olympics hosted at Apalachee High School. Students paired with elementary and middle school students will walk with an advisor to Yargo or HMMS to work with students during adapted physical education: 4 times leading up to Special Olympics.

Club Description: Barrow BIGS is a club that offers leadership and service opportunities for general education students. BIG brothers and sisters partner with students in special education, fostering inclusivity, empathy, and a positive school culture. By building and nurturing connections, students discover the joy of working with peers of all abilities.

Club Member Expectations:

Purpose: Students will have fun making new friends while learning a lifelong skill that can be passed down for generations. We will focus on competition-style barbeque and be competing against the professionals!

Activities: Students will learn how to trim, prepare, and cooks BBQ meats from professionals through live demonstrations, participate in practice cooks, sell BBQ for fundraisers, and compete in an overnight competition against professional pitmasters!

Purpose: At the Black Student Union we aim to unite and celebrate the black culture here at Apalachee High School.
Activities: Our activities will include educators coming to speak to us from HBCUs, trying new and familiar cultural foods, and coming together as a community to commemorate what black history is, was, and is to come at our school. This club is open to ALL students who are interested in learned about African American Culture and need a community to lean on. We would love to have you!

Activities: Come play chess for 1 hour in Ms. Lehner's Room (2.144) from 3:30 - 4:30pm on Tuesdays

Purpose: FCCLA offers members the opportunity to expand their leadership potential and develop skills for life - planning, goal setting, problem solving, decision making, and interpersonal communication- all necessary within the home and workplace. FCCLA is unique among youth organizations because its programs are planned and run by members. It is the only Career and Technical in-school Student Organization with family as its central focus.
Activities: Fall Leadership Conference, Day at Six Flags, State Leadership Conference, Summer Camp, National Conference in Orlando.

Purpose: An interdenominational Christian sports ministry to see the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes. To lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.
Activities: Guest speakers from local churches and CFA biscuits or Dunkin Donuts provided for those in attendance. Morning meetings once a week.

Purpose: The FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
Activities: Monthly meetings and school service events.

Purpose: Learn how to formally debate, expand political knowledge, practice active citizenship, get govermental action involved, actively engage community members in Barrow County, and solving local, state, and national issues.
Activities: Solve issues around the school community.

Purpose: To empower future health professionals through community service, hands-on leadership development, and real-world career preparation.
Activities: Testing skills in competitive events at State Leadership Conferences in the spring, attending dynamic leadership workshops, and gaining healthcare-aligned resume experience. Bi-annual campus Blood Drives, supporting local athletes by volunteering with the Special Olympics, and hosting interactive Teddy Bear Clinics at elementary schools.

Purpose: HoPe is a nonprofit movement dedicated to increasing the graduation rate among Hispanic high school students through leadership development, educational resources and community service. HoPe exists to build communities for high school students to succeed, find their purpose, and be world class leaders. The club is completely led by student leaders who are briefed by the outside organization of HoPe. HoPE is You Belong Here. Always Have. Always Will.

Purpose: To celebrate and learn about cultures around the world, promote the beauty of diversity and inclusivity, and have fun while making new friends.
Activities: Monthly meetings after school where we focus on a different culture each month and sample foods and games from those cultures, field trips to cultural festivals, and hosting annual Cultural Day / International Night (a community event showcasing multicultural acts.) We hope to add many exciting activities this year, so come join us!

Purpose: Math club is for any student that is interested in exploring interesting mathematic concepts. Mu Alpha Theta is the Math National Honors Society.
Activities: Riddles, Math Games, Presentations on Mathematical Concepts, Pi Day Celebration.

Purpose: A service-based organization with many opportunities for student leadership.
Activities: Members help plan and/or participate in monthly service activities such as BINGO at The Landing, creating and distributing gifts to the daycare staff, volunteering at the canned food drive and more.
Requirements: Students with a GPA of 85 or higher may apply for membership.

Purpose: NTHS Mission To honor student achievement and leadership in career and technical education, promote educational excellence, award scholarships, and enhance career opportunities for the NTHS membership.

Purpose: For student leaders in various other clubs, sports, and other activities to receive training on various means in regard to leading their peers to achieve at high levels of performance.

Purpose: Student Council serves as an opportunity for students to represent their classmates and their interests while developing leadership and organizational skills.

Activities: Organizing school events like homecoming, spirit week, and powderpuff.

Purpose: Enhance personal development, leadership, and career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), whereby members apply and integrate these concepts through intacurricular activities, competitions, and related programs. 

Activities: Students participate in technology competitive events, leadership development, communtiy activities, social events, design challenges, field trips and more. Example activities include: Technology Day at the Perry Fair, Capital Day in Atlanta, State Leadership Conference, National Conferences, Career Exploration, Interclub social events, quick build design challenges.

Purpose: To recognize, honor, and reward, and encourage student achievement in all aspects of theatre. 

Activities: Performance of theatre productions, field trips to plays, operas, and ballets. One Act competition in Fall. Georgia State Thespian Convention in Winter, International Thespian Convention in June.

Purpose: The Tri-M Music Honor Society provides leadership opportunities to high-achieving student musicians to make a difference in their community through music-based service projects.

Activities: Members participate in monthly after-school meetings in which they organize music-related community service projects. Our Tri-M chapter consists of students from band, chorus, and musical theatre classes with an interest in gaining leadership and service experience. They also like to party and make music together.
